October wedding in New England

My niece is getting married in late October and has chosen "eggplant" colored dresses for her bridesmaids. She is also trying to incorporate a bit of orange into the palette. I've had a time trying to find those two colors together in one floral arrangement, but above are a few bouquets I thought she may like. My favorite is the top center bouquet with the Ecuadorian roses, orange Calla lilies and Cymbidium orchids for their purple centers.

Below are a few examples of centerpieces, with orange as the main color focus. We can add a touch of deep purple with Lisianthus, Ranunculus or even Kale.

We are also thinking of by-passing the florist and doing the flowers ourselves to save money. I came up with several types of flowers in her colors that we could put together.
She likes the orange berries in bittersweet and wants to incorporate that. We can order these flowers below from
fifty flowers.com , they have a wonderful selection.

Or... she could always use more of the purple for a monochromatic theme to the bouquets. The purple Cala lilies are beautiful all by themselves. I also love the green berries with the purple mums in the Nantucket baskets. Perfect for the little flower girl to carry!

  1. We'll have to make an extra arrangement or two since they are so pretty ;)

  2. Hey-- great minds think alike.

I am getting married in October AND my bridesmaids are wearing eggplant AND I'm incorporating orange into my color scheme.

In the bridesmaids bouquets are going to have orange lilies, hypericum berries, burgandy rannunculus, purple lizzies and bacarra roses (sorry my spelling really sucks). They look FABULOUS together.
